Baseball Game Preview: Whale Branch Warriors vs. Battery Creek Dolphins

Whale Branch is 1-9 against Battery Creek since April of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. The Warriors will square off against the Dolphins at 6:00 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

Whale Branch is headed into Wednesday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fourth straight game on Tuesday. They fell 7-3 to Barnwell.

Whale Branch saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Hezekiah Morrall, who scored a run while going 2-for-3. Morrall also hit two doubles, marking his first of the season. Another was Javaree Bartley, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with one RBI.

Meanwhile, Tuesday just wasn't the day for Battery Creek's offense. They lost 15-0 to Oceanside Collegiate Academy on Tuesday. The loss continues a trend for the Dolphins in their meetings with the Landsharks: they've now lost eight in a row.

Battery Creek now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Whale Branch, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-10.

Whale Branch suffered a grim 13-0 defeat to Battery Creek in their previous meeting back in April of 2023. Can the Warriors avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
