Baseball Recap: Knoxville Catholic Beats Webb for Their Third Straight Win

Knoxville Catholic had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 4 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Monday. They walked away with a 6-3 victory over the Webb Spartans. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Fighting Irish also won the last time the pair played back in March of 2024.

Tyler Slatas looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up a single earned run in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Alex Ditmore was incredible, going 1-for-2 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. He is becoming a predictor of Knoxville Catholic's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 10-12-1 when he doesn't). Cooper Williamson was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one triple, one run, and one double.

Knoxville Catholic's win bumped their record up to 18-12-1. As for Webb, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-15 record this season.

Knoxville Catholic will have a chance to go back-to-back against Webb: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
