Basketball Recap: Dilley Comes Up Short

Dilley extended their losing streak to three on Tuesday, dropping them down to 5-20. They were beaten by the Crystal City Javelinas 105-56. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Javelinas this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 114-42 on January 2nd.

Despite the loss, Dilley saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Isaiah Kinsey posted 32 points. Kinsey continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last four games he's played. Troy Gonzales was another key player, putting up ten points and three steals.

As for Crystal City, the win was the 12th in a row for them, bringing their record up to 18-5. They have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight matchups by 20 points or more this season.

Christopher Mena continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, almost dropping a double-double with 42 points and nine rebounds. That makes it seven consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of Crystal City's points. Another player making a difference was Tay Shawn Coleman, who dropped a double-double with 20 points and 14 boards.
