Basketball Game Preview: Skyline Eagles vs. Bedford Kicking Mules

The Skyline Eagles are taking a road trip to square off against the Bedford Kicking Mules at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Last Tuesday, Skyline was able to grind out a solid victory over Dexter, taking the game 45-36. Given the Eagles' advantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 77th, while the Dreadnaughts are ranked 208th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Bedford escaped with a win on Tuesday against Monroe by the margin of a single free throw, 35-34. The 35-point effort marked the Kicking Mules' lowest-scoring game of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

Bedford is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 8-7 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.8 points per game. As for Skyline, their record now sits at 12-6.

Everything went Skyline's way against Bedford in their previous matchup back in January, as Skyline made off with a 71-48 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Skyline since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
