Softball Game Preview: Appleton East Patriots vs. Oshkosh West Wildcats

Appleton East hasn't had much luck against Oshkosh West recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Patriots will face off against the Wildcats at 4:30 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Appleton East fought the good fight in their extra-innings match against Fond du Lac on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Cardinals by a score of 10-8. Surprisingly, this marked the fourth straight game that the away team has come away the victor.

Meanwhile, Oshkosh West came up short against Neenah on Tuesday and fell 6-1. That's two games in a row now that the Wildcats have lost by exactly five runs.

This is the second loss in a row for Oshkosh West and nudges their season record down to 2-2. As for Appleton East, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.
