Basketball Recap: High Point Academy Comes Up Short

High Point Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their tenth straight loss dating back to last season. They took a blow against the Newman International Academy Warriors, falling 52-10. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Eagles this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 69-29 back in December of 2024.

Newman International Academy got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Deontae Casey out in front who posted 11 points and four steals. The dominant performance gave Casey a new career-high in steals. TJ Styles was another key player, putting up nine points and six boards.

High Point Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Newman International Academy, they now have a winning record of 14-13.

High Point Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Newman International Academy has already played their next contest (against Harmony School of Innovation Fort Worth), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
