Basketball Recap: De Leon Comes Up Short

De Leon was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They were beaten by the Lipan Indians 83-40. While losing is never fun, the Bearcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1199th, while the Indians are ranked 22nd).

De Leon's defeat dropped their record down to 8-12. As for Lipan, the victory (which was their 23rd in a row) raised their record to 24-1.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. De Leon is set to challenge their familiar foe Santo at 7:35 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Lipan will square off against rival Poolville at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
