Chaparral hasn't had much luck against Regis Jesuit recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Chaparral Wolverines will host the Regis Jesuit Raiders at 7:00 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.
Having struggled with three losses in a row, Chaparral turned things around against Douglas County on Wednesday. They blew past the Huskies 65-37. Given the Wolverines' advantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 43rd, while the Huskies are ranked 140th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Regis Jesuit fought the good fight in their overtime match against Legend on Wednesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Titans by a score of 62-59. The Raiders' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Chaparral has been crashing the rebounds this season, having averaged 25.4 boards per game. However, it's not like Regis Jesuit struggles in that department as they've been averaging 33.7 rebounds. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
Chaparral was taken down by Regis Jesuit 81-35 when the teams last played back in January of 2024. Can Chaparral avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
