The Westminster Christian Warriors will square off against the Latin Romans at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Westminster Christian is coming into the match hot, having won their last six games.
Westminster Christian proved they can win big on Monday (they won by ten) and on Wednesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 win over Aurora Central Catholic.
Elijah Geu spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on seven hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one walk in ten consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Westminster Christian saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brian Powers, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases. Powers is becoming a predictor of the Warriors' success: when he posts at least two stolen bases the team is undefeated (and 11-12-1 when he doesn't).
Latin came out on top against St. Patrick on Monday thanks in part to the team's impressive five-run fifth inning. The Romans put the hurt on the Shamrocks with a sharp 8-1 victory. Considering the Romans have won ten contests by more than six runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.
Noah Katz and Drew Lufrano made a splash no matter where they played. Throwing, Katz struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Meanwhile, Lufrano didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over four innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts Katz has posted since back in April. At bat, Katz went 1-for-3 with two runs and one RBI, while Lufrano got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one run and one RBI.
In other batting news, Jackson Darke was excellent, going 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double. Another player making a difference was Karim Patterson, who got on base in two of his four plate appearances with three stolen bases and one run.
Latin has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-3 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.8 runs over those games. As for Westminster Christian, their victory was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 15-12-1.
