Soccer Recap: Nooksack Valley Comes Up Short

Nooksack Valley lost against Mount Vernon back in April of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Pioneers came up short against the Bulldogs, falling 3-0. While losing is never fun, Nooksack Valley can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Washington soccer rankings (they are ranked 257th, while Mount Vernon are ranked 69th).

This is the second loss in a row for Nooksack Valley and nudges their season record down to 1-11. As for Mount Vernon, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-2-2 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Nooksack Valley will take on rival Anacortes at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Meanwhile, Mount Vernon is set to challenge their familiar foe Sedro-Woolley at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
