Football Recap: Remington Faile's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Patrician Academy over South Choctaw Academy

Patrician Academy and South Choctaw Academy squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but Patrician Academy had to settle for second. They lost 40-14 to the Rebels. The contest marked the Saints' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Patrician Academy's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Remington Faile, who rushed for 105 yards and one TD on only 14 carries. Faile's rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his third straight game with at least 105 rushing yards. Another player making a difference was Jackson Lindsey, who gained 60 total yards and a touchdown.

South Choctaw Academy can attribute much of their success to Dawson Sikes, who rushed for 103 yards on only seven carries.

Having lost for the first time this season, Patrician Academy fell to 11-1. As for South Choctaw Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season.

Patrician Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for South Choctaw Academy, they will challenge Abbeville Christian Academy at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday.
