Volleyball Game Preview: Dawson Eagles vs. Fort Bend Travis Tigers + Official Tickets

The Dawson Eagles will take on the Fort Bend Travis Tigers at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams are coming into the match red-hot, with Dawson sitting on 17 straight wins and Fort Bend Travis on five.

Dawson had to skate by with only a one-set margin when they last took the court, which might have inspired the three-set drubbing they dealt Friendswood on Monday. The Eagles were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Mustangs.

Taylor Ranney was the offensive standout of the contest as she had seven digs and two aces. She has been hot for a while, having also posted 13 or more assists the last ten times she's played.

Meanwhile, Fort Bend Travis got the win against Fort Bend Clements on Friday by a conclusive 3-0.

Fort Bend Travis was especially dominant in the first set. The final score came out to 25-14, 25-21, 25-20.

Fort Bend Travis' victory bumped their record up to 22-18. As for Dawson, their win bumped their record up to 37-4.

Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Thursday's matchup: Dawson has really dialed in their serving this season, having averaged 7.4 aces per game. However, it's not like Fort Bend Travis struggles in that department as they've been averaging 5.2 aces. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
