Basketball Game Preview: North Branch Vikings vs. Big Lake Hornets

North Branch and Big Lake are an even 5-5 against one another since December of 2019, but not for long. The North Branch Vikings will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against the Big Lake Hornets at 7:00 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Last Tuesday, North Branch was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 54-49 to St. Francis. The Vikings have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Big Lake was not able to break out of their rough patch on January 10th as the team picked up their eighth straight loss dating back to last season. They were outmatched by Monticello and fell 68-27. The contest marked the Hornets' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

North Branch's defeat dropped their record down to 10-6. As for Big Lake, their loss dropped their record down to 0-6.

North Branch beat Big Lake 60-50 in their previous matchup back in December of 2024. Will North Branch repeat their success, or does Big Lake have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
