Basketball Game Preview: McCreary Central Raiders vs. Lincoln County Patriots

McCreary Central hasn't had much luck against Lincoln County recently, but that could start to change on Saturday. The McCreary Central Raiders will head out to face off against the Lincoln County Patriots at 7:30 p.m. McCreary Central knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past six contests -- so hopefully Lincoln County likes a good challenge.

McCreary Central lost 101-77 to Harlan County on Thursday.

Meanwhile, you're bound to get a positive result if you outscore your opponent every quarter, and that's exactly how it played out for Lincoln County on Thursday. They blew past Rockcastle County 63-42. Given the Patriots' advantage in MaxPreps' Kentucky basketball rankings (they are ranked 97th, while the Rockets are ranked 220th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

McCreary Central's loss dropped their record down to 9-4. As for Lincoln County, their win bumped their record up to 8-4-1.

McCreary Central came up short against Lincoln County in their previous meeting back in February of 2024, falling 62-52. Can McCreary Central avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
