Basketball Recap: Mount Calvary Christian Academy Falls Despite Big Games from Jentzen Wade and Carson Howell

Mount Calvary Christian Academy came into their game on Saturday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 67-42 to Coastal Brigade. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against Coastal Brigade this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 51-41 on Thursday.

Carson Howell and Jentzen Wade certainly did their best on Saturday to avoid the loss. Howell almost dropped a double-double with 19 points and nine rebounds, while Wade dropped a double-double with 15 points and 13 boards. Wade has been hot recently, having posted eight or more boards the last three times he's played.

Coastal Brigade found their leader in sophomore Beau Brake, who dropped a double-double with 28 points and 14 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Brake has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Cade Lewis, who posted 17 points in addition to five assists and five steals.

Mount Calvary Christian Academy now has a losing record of 3-4. As for Coastal Brigade, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 6-1.

Mount Calvary Christian Academy wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 70-8 victory against Fellowship Christian Academy on the 18th. As for Coastal Brigade, they will face off against Gramercy Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
