Softball Recap: Ellwood City Comes Up Short

The Ellwood City Wolverine didn't have quite enough to beat the Hickory Hornets on Wednesday and fell 4-2. The Wolverine have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Ellwood City saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Amber McQuistion, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.

Ellwood City's loss dropped their record down to 10-8. As for Hickory, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-8 record this season.

Ellwood City does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Hickory, they will challenge Sharon at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The Tigers will roll in looking for their ninth straight victory, something the Hornets surely won't give up without a fight.
