Baseball Game Preview: Germantown Red Devils vs. Houston Mustangs

Germantown hasn't had much luck against Houston recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Red Devils will host the Mustangs at 5:30 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Germantown had been on a four-game streak of scoring at least ten runs, but Arlington put an end to it on Saturday. The Red Devils lost 14-2 to the Tigers.

Germantown saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Johnathan Rudd, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 1-for-2. Rudd is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last seven games he's played.

Meanwhile, Saturday just wasn't the day for Houston's offense. They came up short against Bolivar Central on Saturday, falling 16-0. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Mustangs have suffered since May 2, 2024.

Houston has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost nine of their last 12 contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-10 record this season. As for Germantown, their loss dropped their record down to 8-8.
