Basketball Recap: Dexter Falls to Charleston in First Game of Season

Dexter kicked off their season on the road on Tuesday and hit a couple of potholes. They fell 75-63 to the Charleston Bluejays. The Bearcats were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bluejays apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2024.

Charleston's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Trenez Lane led the charge by shooting 47% from the field en route to 22 points and five rebounds. Dakyrious Williams was another key player, going 6-for-10 to rack up 16 points and seven boards.

The victory got Charleston back to even at 1-1.

Dexter has already played their next matchup, a 71-65 win against Malden on the 5th. As for Charleston, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 79-59 victory against Festus on the 5th.
