Football Recap: Ridgewood Falls Despite Big Games from Beau Wiatrak and Brody Perrapato

Ridgewood was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took a hard 28-14 fall against the Passaic County Tech Bulldogs. The Maroons were down 28-7 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

Ridgewood's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Brody Perrapato, who rushed for 95 yards and one score on only ten carries, and Beau Wiatrak, who rushed for 83 yards and one TD on only 11 carries. Perrapato got the majority of those rushing yards when he took off on a run that went for an incredible 62 yards.

Ridgewood didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Camden Zaza and Kyle Caramagno.

Ridgewood now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Passaic County Tech, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-2.

Looking ahead, Ridgewood will challenge Hackensack at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Passaic County Tech, they will take on Ramapo at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The Raiders' defense has only allowed 8.8 points per game this season, so the Bulldogs' offense will have their work cut out for them.
