Softball Game Preview: Bellingham Bayhawks vs. Mount Vernon Bulldogs

Bellingham hasn't had much luck against Mount Vernon recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Bellingham Bayhawks will head out on the road to challenge the Mount Vernon Bulldogs at 4:00 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.

Bellingham is headed into Thursday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fifth straight game dating back to last season on Tuesday. They lost 32-10 to Sehome.

Bellingham saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Emma Johnson, who scored a run and stole Two bases. while going 1-for-2. A Porter was another, scoring a run while getting on base in two of her three plate appearances.

Mount Vernon kicked off their season on the road on Monday and hit a couple of potholes. They fell just short of Everett by a score of 4-3. The Bulldogs have struggled against the Seagulls recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost meetings.

Bellingham suffered a grim 21-3 defeat to Mount Vernon in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Can Bellingham avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
