Basketball Recap: English Valleys Find Success

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Iowa Valley, English Valleys was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They walked away with a 61-53 win over the Belle Plaine Plainsmen. This was a revenge game for the Bears: when they faced off against the Plainsmen back in December of 2024, they had to take a 70-64 defeat.

English Valleys' victory was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-12 and their overall record up to 4-14. As for Belle Plaine, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost seven of their last eight matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-13 record this season.

English Valleys will welcome Lone Tree on Monday. As for Belle Plaine, they are taking a road trip to square off against Sigourney at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
