Softball Recap: The Meadows School Wins Going Away Against Sunrise Mountain

The Meadows School won the last time they faced Sunrise Mountain and things went their way on Wednesday too. The Mustangs put the hurt on the Miners with a sharp 19-9 victory. Considering the Mustangs have won nine contests by more than nine runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Leighton Bekhor was incredible, going 3-for-5 with four runs, four RBI, and one triple. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April of 2024. Tessa Rosenstein was another key player, getting on base in three of her five plate appearances with three stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI.

The Meadows School always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .513. They are 9-1 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

The Meadows School's win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 10-11. As for Sunrise Mountain, they have been struggling recently as they've lost 12 of their last 13 matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-16 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. The Meadows School will face off against Sports Leadership & Management at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. The Bulls' pitching crew has only allowed three runs per game this season, so the Mustangs' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Sunrise Mountain, they will challenge Eldorado at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. The Firehawks have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 17.65 runs per game on average), something the Miners will no doubt try to take advantage of.
