Basketball Recap: Fairfield Union Comes Up Short

Fairfield Union was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They were two points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 49-47 heartbreaker at the hands of the Licking Valley Panthers. The Falcons were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Panthers apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2023.

Fairfield Union's loss dropped their record down to 11-11. As for Licking Valley, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 15-7 record this season.

Coming up, Fairfield Union will be taking part in a tournament against McClain at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Licking Valley does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
