Softball Recap: Huntingdon Continues Home Dominance on Tuesday

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Bedford, Huntingdon was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They came out on top against the Clearfield Bison by a score of 7-4. For the Bearcats, this counts as revenge for the 10-9 win the Bison walked away with the last time they faced one another back in May of 2024.

Alivia Nicklow spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned runs on four hits and racked up 11 Ks. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts any time she's pitched this season.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Izzy Kazmarski, who went 3-for-4 with two RBI. Those two RBI gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Alexa Beyer, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI and one run.

Huntingdon was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Huntingdon's victory was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 8-5. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Clearfield, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-8.

Huntingdon didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 7-1 victory against Bishop Guilfoyle on the 30th. As for Clearfield, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, a 13-6 win against Bradford on the 30th.
