Basketball Recap: American Prep WV Takes a Loss

American Prep WV was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their ninth straight loss dating back to last season. They were outmatched by the Intermountain Christian Lions and fell 53-5. The Eagles lost against the Lions in their previous head to head back in February, too, but the margin this time around was even wider than the 55-29 score last time.

Intermountain Christian's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Elaine Lunsford, who went 5 of 8 en route to 10 points and seven rebounds. Lunsford has been hot, having also posted two or more steals the last five times she's played. Another player making a difference was Gillian Lusk, who posted eight points in addition to seven rebounds and five steals.

American Prep WV's defeat dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Intermountain Christian, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-3.

American Prep WV will head out to face off against Rowland Hall at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Intermountain Christian, a feisty cat fight will be fought when the Intermountain Christian Lions face off against the Wendover Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
