The Christian Patriots will take on the Lone Peak Knights in a tournament on Monday. Christian is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.9 runs per game this season.

Christian barely beat Valhalla the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. Christian was the clear victor by a 13-2 margin over Valhalla on Wednesday. The Patriots have beaten the Norsemen the last five times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Norsemen has come to flipping the script.

Chase Togerson was a standout: he scored two runs while going 3-for-3. Another player making a difference was Xander Molina, who went 1-for-2 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI.

Christian was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .424. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Valhalla only posted a batting average of .292.

While Lone Peak didn't have the best season last year (they finished 11-16), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They walked away with a 9-5 win over Corner Canyon on Friday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Knights.

Bowen Barnes was incredible, going 3-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Andrew Ladd, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and two RBI.

Christian's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-2. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.7 runs over those games. As for Lone Peak, their victory bumped their record up to 5-1.

Monday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Christian hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .333. However, it's not like Lone Peak struggles in that department as they've averaged .355. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
