Baseball Recap: Eaton Extends Road Winning Streak to Three

Eaton had won three straight on the road, but on Friday they bumped their record up to 16-6 to make it four. They walked away with a 5-2 victory over the Resurrection Christian Cougars. The win continues a trend for the Reds in their matchups with the Cougars: they've now won six in a row.

Gunnar Garrison spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned runs on five hits.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Liam Whalen, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

As for Resurrection Christian, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 13-8 record this season. Their loss continues a trend for the team, making it three in a row.

On Resurrection Christian's side, they got a good showing from Merick Fisbeck, who pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Fisbeck has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits any time he's pitched this season.

At the plate, Vincent Fuller was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one home run, two RBI, and one double. That home run was his first of the season.

Coincidentally, Eaton and Resurrection Christian will both be playing Basalt the next time they take the field. The Cougars will host the Longhorns at 5:00 p.m. on Friday, while the Reds will host them at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
