Baseball Recap: Friends Academy Quakers vs. Carle Place Frogs
Friends Academy had lost five straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Tuesday they dropped their record down to 0-3 to make it six. They took a 10-5 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Carle Place Frogs. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Frogs this season, with their most recent loss being a 15-4 defeat on Monday.
Ben Notaris and Damian Balkcom did some serious damage despite the final result: Notaris went 3-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double, while Balkcom went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Mason Linken was another key player, going 1-for-4 with two RBI and one double.
As for Carle Place, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.7 runs on average over those games.
