Basketball Recap: Northern Durham Comes Up Short

Northern Durham lost against Riverside-Durham back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Northern Durham Knights were dealt a 70-42 loss at the hands of the Riverside-Durham Pirates. The Knights just can't catch a break and have now endured four defeats in a row.

Riverside-Durham's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Talib Harrell led the charge by going 5 for 9 en route to 10 points in addition to six rebounds and three blocks. Amari Royster was another key player, putting up 13 points and five boards.

Northern Durham's loss dropped their record down to 5-11. As for Riverside-Durham, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 5-12.

Northern Durham will host East Chapel Hill at 8:00 p.m. on Monday. Northern Durham is facing East Chapel Hill at the right time seeing as East Chapel Hill is stuck on a four-game losing streak. Riverside-Durham has already played their next match (against Hillside), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
