Volleyball Recap: Antioch Takes a Loss

Antioch extended their losing streak to five on Thursday, dropping them down to 2-9. They lost 3-0 to the Freedom Falcons. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Panthers of the 3-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in September of 2024.

As for Freedom, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 7-6. That looming 3-0 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for them yet this season.

Freedom got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Olivia Reyes out in front who had 13 digs and five aces. Reyes is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 13 or more in each of the last four games she's played. Another player making a difference was Lauren Morgan, who had 11 assists and four aces.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Antioch will venture away from home to face off against Pittsburg at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Freedom, they will square off against Emerald at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
