Softball Recap: Pekin Gets the Win

Pekin and North Mahaska pushed the score to 17-16 the last time they played North Mahaska, but on Saturday defenses reigned supreme. The Panthers had just enough and edged out the Warhawks 2-1. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Panthers as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Pekin's win bumped their record up to 4-5. As for North Mahaska, their defeat ended an eight-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 8-2.

Pekin wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, an 18-1 loss against Holy Trinity Catholic on the 9th. As for North Mahaska, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 12-2 victory against English Valleys on the 9th.
