Volleyball Game Preview: New Trier Trevians vs. York Dukes

The New Trier Trevians will take on the York Dukes in a tournament on Friday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

New Trier took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Thursday. They walked away with a 2-0 win over Evanston. The victory continues a trend for the Trevians in their matchups with the Wildkits: they've now won five in a row.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-21, 25-17.

Meanwhile, York entered their tilt with Leyden on Thursday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They came out on top against the Eagles by a score of 2-0.

York not only won, but also showed off some consistency: they kept Leyden between 18 and 19 points across their sets. The match finished with set scores of 25-18, 25-19.

New Trier's win was their 15th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 15-7. As for York, their victory bumped their record up to 21-6.

New Trier came up short against York when the teams last played back in May of 2024, falling 2-0. Can the Trevians avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
