Softball Recap: Aiken Comes Up Short

Aiken fell victim to Gray Collegiate Academy and their airtight pitching crew on Friday. They lost 13-0 to the War Eagles. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the War Eagles this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 16-0 last Wednesday.

Aiken dropped their record down to 0-6 with the defeat, which was their 13th straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Gray Collegiate Academy, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 12-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Aiken will welcome Brookland-Cayce at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Aiken is facing Brookland-Cayce at the right time seeing as Brookland-Cayce is stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for Gray Collegiate Academy, they will challenge South Aiken at 7:15 p.m. on Monday. Gray Collegiate Academy will also cruise into their next contest with the timing on their side: South Aiken will have lost four straight heading into Monday's matchup.
