Baseball Recap: Orono Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Victory

Orono proved they can win big on Thursday (they won by seven) and on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They had just enough and edged out the Waconia Wildcats 4-2. The win was nothing new for the Spartans as they're now sitting on four straight.

The team relied heavily on Chaz Brookins, who went 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Orono pushed their record up to 8-5 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Waconia, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-8.

Coming up, Orono will challenge Jefferson at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Waconia, they will take on Eden Prairie at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday.
