Volleyball Game Preview: Solorio Sun Warriors vs. Hancock Eagles

The Solorio Sun Warriors will venture away from home to square off against the Hancock Eagles at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.

Solorio is probably headed into the match with a chip on their shoulder considering Hubbard just ended the team's five-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Greyhounds by a score of 2-1.

The 2-1 score doesn't really reflect how close the match was: every set was decided by three points or less. The final score came out to 25-22, 23-25, 26-24.

Meanwhile, Hancock waltzed into their contest on Tuesday with seven straight wins... but they left with eight. They came within a single set of losing the streak, but they secured a 2-1 W against the Condors.

Hancock had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next two. The match finished with set scores of 22-25, 25-20, 25-19.

Hancock's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 13-5. As for Solorio, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-8-4.

Solorio came up short against Hancock in their previous matchup back in May of 2023, falling 2-0. Can the Sun Warriors avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
