Softball Recap: Snake River Panthers vs. Bear Lake Bears
Snake River was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 15th straight defeat dating back to last season. They lost 16-6 to the Bear Lake Bears. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bears this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 7-4 back in March.
Snake River saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Neiley Mangum, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3. Mangum also put up two doubles, which were her first of the season. Elizabeth Taylor was another, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in two of her three plate appearances.
Snake River's loss dropped their record down to 0-13. As for Bear Lake, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-9 record this season.
Snake River wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 12-7 win against South Fremont on the 12th. As for Bear Lake, they will welcome Marsh Valley at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Eagles have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 10.08 runs per game on average), something the Bears will no doubt try to take advantage of.
