Baseball Recap: New Plymouth Takes a Loss

After flying high against Vision on Thursday, New Plymouth came back down to earth. The Pilgrims came up short against the Marsing Huskies on Thursday, falling 14-4. The Pilgrims have struggled against the Huskies recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost meeting.

Ashton Robinson was cooking despite his team's loss, going 3-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double. New Plymouth is 2-1 when Robinson posts three or more hits, but 10-11 otherwise. Jacob Hartle was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two runs.

New Plymouth's defeat dropped their record down to 12-12. As for Marsing, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-6 record this season.

New Plymouth will be playing in front of their home fans against Melba at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Marsing, they are taking a road trip to challenge Nampa Christian at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The Trojans will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something the Huskies surely won't give up without a fight.
