Softball Recap: Archbishop Mitty Comes Up Short

Archbishop Mitty lost against Saint Francis back in April, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Monarchs fell 7-2 to the Lancers.

Archbishop Mitty saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Payton Burton, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base.

Archbishop Mitty's defeat dropped their record down to 13-7-1. As for Saint Francis, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 15 of their last 16 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 24-2 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Archbishop Mitty will take on rival Sacred Heart Cathedral Preparatory at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Saint Francis is set to square off against their familiar foe Valley Christian at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Lancers 1.3, the Warriors 2.5) so any runs scored will be well earned.
