Basketball Recap: Kearney Falls Despite Big Games from Addison Taylor and Maggie Lakin

Kearney suffered their biggest defeat since January 29, 2024 on Wednesday. They came up short against the Liberty Blue Jays, falling 50-27. The Bulldogs have struggled against the Blue Jays recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive lost matchup.

Maggie Lakin and Addison Taylor certainly did their best on Wednesday to avoid the loss. Lakin posted five points and six rebounds, while Taylor scored eight points.

Kearney's loss dropped their record down to 3-7. As for Liberty, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a massive bump to their 6-4 record this season.

Kearney didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 74-21 victory against Winnetonka on the 17th. As for Liberty, they will head out on the road to face off against North Kansas City at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
