Softball Recap: Marlboro Mustangs vs. Freehold Township Patriots
Marlboro was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They came up short against the Freehold Township Patriots, falling 10-3. The Mustangs were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Patriots earlier this season, when they won 12-0.
Marlboro saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Isabella Wuelfing, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one triple, one stolen base, and one run.
Marlboro now has a losing record of 7-8. As for Freehold Township, their victory was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-8 and their overall record up to 3-9.
Coincidentally, Marlboro and Freehold Township will both be playing Jackson Memorial the next time they take the field. The Patriots will head out to face the Jaguars at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, while the Mustangs will head out to face them at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
