Softball Recap: Quincy Wins Going Away Against Portola

Quincy won the last time they faced Portola and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Trojans put the hurt on the Tigers with a sharp 9-1 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Trojans.

Jemma Trueblood made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 11 over seven innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in 16 consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in two of her four plate appearances with two RBI and one run.

In other batting news, Adrian Goulet was excellent, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with one run, one double, and one RBI. Morganne Olhiser was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run.

Quincy's record is now 14-4. As for Portola, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-7-1.

Looking ahead, Portola will face off against Plumas Charter at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Quincy will be paying especially close attention to the Tigers' game: after the Tigers face off against the Warriors, they'll take on Quincy again at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
