Basketball Recap: Thursday's Defeat Ends Nicholas County's Winning Streak

Nicholas County lost against PikeView back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Nicholas County Grizzlies took a 64-56 hit to the loss column at the hands of the PikeView Panthers. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Monday (55), the Grizzlies still had to take the loss.

When it comes to explaining why Nicholas County lost, don't look at Adrienne Truman. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double on 25 points and ten rebounds. Truman has been hot recently, having also posted four or more steals the last four times she's played. Olivia Stone was another key player, putting up ten points and six boards.

Even though they lost, Nicholas County was working as a unit and finished the game with 13 assists. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their assist total in four consecutive games.

The defeat snapped Nicholas County's winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 6-6 record. As for PikeView, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-7.

Coincidentally, both will both be playing Princeton the next time they take the court. Nicholas County will host Princeton at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, while PikeView will head out to face them at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
