Baseball Recap: Del Sol's Luck Changes for the Better on Monday

It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Del Sol ultimately got the result they hoped for on Monday. Everything went their way against the Sports Leadership & Management Bulls as they made off with a 16-8 win. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Dragons as it put an end to their six-game losing streak.

Joseph Luna made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out eight batters over five innings while giving up three earned (and two unearned) runs off seven hits. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in March of 2025. He was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with one run and one RBI.

In other batting news, Tony Luna was incredible, going 3-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and one stolen base. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March of 2025. Ice Catapang was another key player, going 3-for-5 with three RBI and two runs.

Del Sol was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .432. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .316 or higher in six consecutive matchups.

Del Sol's win was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 4-12. As for Sports Leadership & Management, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-13.

Del Sol will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Bulls: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
