Recap: Highland Park Hornets vs. Farwell Steers
The Highland Park Hornets's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight loss. They were beaten by Farwell 78-11. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Highland Park has scored all season.
Farwell was led to victory by Makylee Baldwin and Chloee Whitten. Baldwin scored 16 points along with five steals, while Whitten scored 17 points along with five assists and four steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Whitten has scored all season. Landri Richey was another key contributor, scoring five points along with nine assists and six steals.
Highland Park's loss was their eighth straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 2-18. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 25.1 points per game. As for Farwell, the victory was the eighth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 22-3.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Highland Park will take on Panhandle at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Panhandle presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Highland Park in Texas (Panhandle is ranked 142nd, while Highland Park is ranked 1513th). As for Farwell, they will be playing at home against Boys Ranch at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
