Basketball Recap: Fountain Hills Snags Tenth Victory in Last 12 Games

If Phoenix Christian wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Fountain Hills, they should've done a better job of containing Seilah Smith. The Fountain Hills Falcons were the clear victor by a 52-31 margin over the Phoenix Christian Cougars on Monday thanks in part to Smith, who almost dropped a double-double on 16 points and nine boards. Those nine rebounds gave her a new career-high.

Kynzi Schaunaman was another key player, putting up seven points in addition to five boards and three steals. She is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last three games she's played.

Fountain Hills has been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 12 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 12-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 25.3 points per game. As for Phoenix Christian, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-7.

Fountain Hills didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 51-14 victory against Veritas Prep on the 14th. As for Phoenix Christian, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 37-31 defeat against BASIS Phoenix on the 16th.
