Basketball Recap: Friends Academy Continues Home Dominance on Saturday

Friends Academy had won nine straight home games dating back to last season and Eyan Valadez did his part to make it ten on Saturday. The Friends Academy Quakers breezed by the Lawrence Golden Tornadoes to the tune of 59-27 thanks in part to Valadez, who posted 16 points and five rebounds. He has been hot, having also posted two or more steals the last six times he's played.

Tyler Ferdinand was another key player, putting up four points and three steals. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in steals.

Friends Academy's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-2.

Friends Academy is taking a road trip to face off against Valley Stream South at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Lawrence, they will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Seaford at 7:00 p.m. on January 14, 2025.
