Football Recap: Pascagoula Comes Up Short

Pascagoula extended their losing streak to four on Friday, dropping them down to 1-4. They were beaten by the Gulfport Admirals 53-13. The game marked the Panthers' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Despite the loss, Pascagoula still got an impressive performance from La'Darion Pickett Jr., who picked up 113 receiving yards and one TD. Pickett Jr. was no stranger to the big play, connecting on a big catch that went for 52 yards. Pascagoula also got help from D'Lass Nunnery, who showed off his sure hands for 93 receiving yards.

As for Gulfport, the victory got them back to even at 2-2. Their offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Cooper Crosby had another great game (as he tends to do), rushing for 90 yards and a pair of scores, while also picking up 31 receiving yards and one touchdown. Another player making a difference was Isaiah Ellison, who rushed for 57 yards and one TD.

Looking ahead, after each having a week off, Pascagoula and Picayune will shake off the rust and duke it out at 7:00 p.m. on the 10th. This will be the Panthers' first chance to prove their worth in the conference. As for Gulfport, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, a 41-28 win against Ocean Springs on the 3rd.
