Softball Recap: Eastern Comes Up Short

Thursday just wasn't the day for Eastern's offense. They lost 6-0 to the Piketon Redstreaks on Thursday. The Eagles have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Leah Rader spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned (and two unearned) runs on six hits and racked up six Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in four consecutive appearances.

Eastern's loss dropped their record down to 6-5. As for Piketon, their victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-1.

Eastern wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 23-2 win against Minford on the 18th. As for Piketon, they have also already played their next match, a 10-0 victory against Paint Valley on the 21st.
