Soccer Recap: Maiden Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Maiden was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 17th straight loss. They lost 9-0 to the Hickory Red Tornadoes. While losing is never fun, Maiden can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina soccer rankings (they are ranked 478th, while Hickory are ranked 47th).

Maiden's defeat dropped their record down to 2-19. As for Hickory, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-3-3 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Maiden will head out to face off against East Gaston at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Hickory, they will venture away from home to challenge West Iredell at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hickory will be up against West Iredell's rather soft defense (which has allowed 3.28 goals per match), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
