The Dewar Dragons will head out to face off against the Valliant Bulldogs at 2:00 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Dewar has 11 straight wins, Valliant has three straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Dewar gave up the first runs on Thursday, but they didn't let that get them down. They were the clear victor by a 12-6 margin over Coweta. The Dragons might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight games by six runs or more this season.

L. Hankins and SKELLY TAYLOR made a big impact no matter where they played. Throwing, Hankins pitched 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Meanwhile, TAYLOR tossed 3.1 innings while giving up just one earned (and four unearned) runs off four hits. What's more, Hankins posted three strikeouts, the most he's had over his last three matchups. At the plate, Hankins scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4, while TAYLOR scored a run while going 2-for-3.
In other batting news, AIDEN TOMLINSON was excellent, scoring two runs while going 3-for-3. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in hits. T. Wilson was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.
Dewar always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .514. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Coweta only posted an OBP of .312.
Meanwhile, Valliant has relied on a stalwart pitchers averaging 2.73 runs allowed per game, but that average took a hit on Thursday. They came up short against Cameron, falling 17-8. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Bulldogs have suffered since April 4, 2024.
Jakobi Newsome was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with two doubles and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Cameron Jones, who scored two runs while going 1-for-3.
Dewar's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-0. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.5 runs over those games. As for Valliant, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-4.
Friday's contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Dewar has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .589. However, it's not like Valliant struggles in that department as they've averaged .448. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Dewar took their win against Valliant when the teams last played back in March of 2023 by a conclusive 12-2. The rematch might be a little tougher for Dewar since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
